Thomas Edgar Davison

Thomas Edgar Davison, 84, of Du Quoin, passed away at 4:39 P.M., Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at his residence.
Tom was a retired supervisor at the Freeman United Coal Mine having thirty five years of service. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin, the Knights of Columbus and the Du Quoin Elks Lodge. He was a US Army veteran of W.W. II serving in the Pacific.
He was born September 14, 1917 in Perry County, IL the son of Thomas W. and Flora Jane (Taylor) Davison.
He married Rose J. Powenski on August 28, 1948 at Benton, IL, she passed away October 2, 1998.
He is survived by a daughter- Julia Ann Lunnemann and husband Jim of Pinckneyville, two sons- Lyle (Duke) Davison and wife Donna of Du Quoin, Michael Davison and wife Veronica of Du Quoin, seven grandchildren-Jennifer and Richard Robb of Pinckneyville, Jamie and Chad Schrader of Virden, Jillian, Jenea and Jason Lunnemann of Pinckneyville, Isaac and Luke Davison of Du Quoin, brother- Julian Davison of Michigan, sister- Doris Johnson of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter- Linda Sue Davison, grandson- Lucas Davison, two brothers in infancy, four sisters- Mary Bailey, Bess Varnum, Marge Cavins, Blanche Caldwell.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 3, 2002 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.. The Rosary was recited at 9:30 A.M., Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites were conducted by the Du Quoin VFW Post 513.
Friends may make memorials to the Diabetes Association, Heart Association or the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
